MIKULAS MUSICIANS FUND

FROM:  Kathy Harris
DATE:   March 30, 2020

Hi Everyone,

We’re so happy we have had a great response from the music community to the grants available from the Mikulas Musicians Fund. So many have applied with the condition that if someone else needs a grant more than they, please give it to them. (This is so like the Tucson music community!) We are still taking applications, so if you or someone you know is a musician who has lost a substantial part of their income because of covid-19, have them contact us at knharris82@gmail.com.

And also like this community, we’ve had a number of inquiries about how to make a donation to the fund. We could certainly use donations, so we managed to get a website up with a donation button you can use to donate on-line through pay-pal. (Thank you so much, Aspen Green!) Please do donate if you can, as the more we can replenish the fund as we give grants, the more we can give! And remember, the Mikulas Musicians Fund is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization so donations are tax deductible. The website is www.mikulasmusiciansfund.org.

We hope everyone is doing ok with “social distancing” – keeping sane and managing to find ways to listen to great music in other ways than in person. Unfortunately, Monterey Court is unable to continue their on-line nightly concerts, and many of the other music venues are closing completely, too. However, we will hang together and it will be a big celebration when we can get together in person and listen to live music again! Let’s just stay healthy and help each other through this time. Thank you so much to all of you for your support of the music community!

Big Hugs! (virtually, of course.) 🙂
