Throughout the “Festival Year – June – May,” our wonderful community of dedicated volunteers supports many of our fundraising events, as well as, Tucson Folk Festival Weekend! Each year’s Festival WOULD NOT HAPPEN without our generous volunteers, be that volunteer worker, performer, staff or board member. We’re ALL volunteers and we give of our hearts (time and financial support) to keep our festival one of the oldest FREE folk music festivals in the country! We just accomplished our 32nd annual festival thanks to you all!
Chris Mikel, TKMA & Festival Volunteer Coordinator, needs to be recognized for all of her time and efforts in providing volunteers for ALL of our events! This is truly one of the most challenging jobs we have! We are very grateful to have Chris at the helm of our volunteer needs, and thank her for all that she does to keep us going! Thanks, Tootsie!
We annually host a Volunteer Appreciation Party after each Festival, where we celebrate all volunteers. This year’s party was graciously hosted by Dave and Kathy Sunderman. Their enchanting backyard offered the perfect setting for a banquet of Mexican cuisine, intimate spaces for various groups of folks to jam together or an opportunity to just sit and relax by the koi pond! Grace Hartman and her team created a beautiful, honoring table setting and assortment of foods. The Hospitality Team’s preparation truly set a tone of appreciation and gratitude for our community of volunteers that was felt the entire evening. Thanks.
