Entrance Table
Venue entry
Take money for walk-ins & donations, record gate sales in notebook, point out TKMA table for joining/additional information about TKMA, and sign in volunteers.
TKMA Table
Inside venue / at community events such as Tucson Festival of Books
Sell TKMA merchandise, take donations and sign up or renew members / volunteers. Answer questions about the Festival & volunteering.
Green Room Door
Entrance to Green Room
Monitor the Green Room entrance to insure that only artists and their invited guests enter.
Hosts
Large venues only
Escort ticket holders to reserved seats.
Raffle Sellers
Inside venue
Volunteers will walk throughout the venue selling raffle tickets and accepting donations. Return tickets and money to onsite TKMA coordinator, who will tally sales and announce the winner.
General Support / Floater
Inside venue
Supporting festival staff with general needs, including, but not limited to: artist and vendor relief, raffle sales, information booth, floater, seating assistance, performer load in, volunteer check in, etc.
Volunteer Job Descriptions for the Tucson Folk Festival
Beer, Beverage and Water Tent Sales
Downtown Tucson – Jacome Plaza – 101 N Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701
North Church Stage (on North Church Ave between Alameda and Washington)
Supporting beverage sales during the event. May include handling cash, standing for long periods of time, lifting boxes, restocking coolers, ID check and handing out wristbands.
Event Breakdown
Downtown Tucson – Jacome Plaza – 101 N Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701
Aiding Staff in general breakdown of event, including signage, tents, tables, chairs, staging, etc. Heavy lifting required. Support in evening stacking of chairs and general cleanup of stage areas.
Festival Event Set-Up / Lifting & Carrying

Supporting Festival set up, including, but not limited to: Merchandise Store, Beer and Beverage Tent, Information Booth, Stage Set Up, Seating, Barricades, Signage Placement, etc.
Festival Event Set-Up / NO Lifting & Carrying

Assist with Set Up of Festival Site (minimal lifting and carrying) including organizing information tent, merchandise tent, green room tents, etc.
Festival Event Set-Up / Office Support (Wednesday)

Festival Greeter – Entry/Exit Monitor

Festival Greeters welcome attendees and are seated at each entrance/exit of the Jacome Plaza area and Courtyard Stage and also ensure that alcoholic beverages are not taken from the enclosure area.

General Event Information, Handing out event programs, directional assistance, orienting performers for check-in, monitoring raffle table. Sitting for long periods of time. Volunteer must have a general understanding, layout and details of the event.
Information Booth (Presidio Museum Stage)
Downtown Tucson – Presidio Museum
Provide information for Festival attendees, take donations, sell festival programs, and watch door to ensure alcohol doesn’t leave the museum door. Volunteers should be knowledgeable about the Folk Festival, SAACA, TKMA and be able to answer questions about Tucson in general.
Kitchen Store & Merchandise Sales

Sell Festival merchandise and performers’ CDs at the Jacome Plaza Festival Tent. Help with beginning of festival inventory, and checking in of performer CDs.
Roving Raffle Sales
Downtown Tucson
Sell raffle tickets and accept donations throughout festival. Volunteers will walk throughout the stage areas to be a mobile raffle ticket seller and accept donations.
Songwriting Competition – Friday Night Judging Assistant
Downtown Tucson
Assist judges, help tabulate scores.
Stage Crew
Downtown Tucson
Oversee logistics at stage location. Help check in acts, make sure stage plots get to soundboard operator, assist bands with equipment during changeover, make sure acts run on time. Coordinate with other stage crew/emcees to ensure a smooth stage schedule
Volunteer Tent

Check in Volunteers and oversee hospitality at Volunteer Tent; Provide Volunteer T-Shirts at Check-in; Support reassignment of volunteers to priority shifts onsite if volunteers cancel.
